Mashhad Central Library

Imam Khomeini Library or Mashhad Central Library is considered a national project. This project was managed and implemented by the General Department of Renovation and Equipping Khorasan Razavi during the years 2018 and 2019. The need to use Iranian-Islamic architectural designs and the need for high speed in production and execution made the project’s architectural team, under the guidance of Mr. Engineer Mostafavi, put the use of GFRC on their agenda. Also, the specific conditions of the project and the risks caused by traffic around the project limited the possibility of using traditional materials. The GFRC panels were designed, produced and installed in a sliding manner by the Mobtakeran Beton co. with dimensions of 120 x 210 cm, observing all the considerations of Iranian-Islamic architecture. Due to maintaining the integrity and uniformity, columns and capitals were also designed and implemented using GFRC.
